Bringing Gender to Internet Governance: Internet Governance eXchanges

In 2015, APC expanded its approach to integrating gender perspectives in internet governance by holding regional Gender and Internet Governance eXchanges (gigX) prior to regional Internet Governance Forums in Asia, Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean. These forums created spaces for gender-focused dialogue within technical governance processes.

The gigX initiative represented APC's strategic approach to ensuring that gender considerations would be central to internet governance discussions. By creating these dedicated spaces, APC helped build capacity for more inclusive participation in technical decision-making processes that shape the internet.
