Catalina Trejos Sánchez
Catalina Trejos Sánchez holds a Master’s degree in media, communication and culture from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a degree in social communication from the University of Costa Rica. With a decade of experience in communication strategies − seven years dedicated to community communication − her work focuses on community participation, capacity building, and fostering autonomy through communication. She currently coordinates the first Central American Training Programme in Telecommunications and Broadcasting for Indigenous and Rural Communities. Additionally, she collaborates with Redes por la Diversidad, Equidad y Sustentabilidad A.C. (REDES A.C.) and Rhizomatica, supporting Indigenous and rural communities in strengthening their communication and technological capacities through community-led projects. She contributes to capacity-building initiatives within the LocNet project as part of this effort.
