Pavitra Ramanujam
Pavitra Ramanujam is a lawyer who leads the Social and Environmental Justice programme at the Association for Progressive Communications (APC), where her work focuses on promotion of digital rights and a rights-based approach to ICT policy-making. Pavitra has extensive experience working at the national and regional level in Asia on issues related to freedom of expression, assembly and association and right to religion online. A key area of her focus is on digital harms such as hate speech, misinformation and disinformation and their impact on vulnerable groups and on information integrity more broadly.
Purpose of position
The Social and Environmental Justice Manager is responsible for leading the Social and Environmental Justice Programme, through providing overall strategic direction and coordination of the programme in line with APC’s priorities, approaches and goals, building a strong and integrated team, ensuring the programme is well resourced, supervising and supporting team members in implementing their work and managing the team's budget, work plan, communication spaces and documentation.
