Progressive Technology Project is a member of a global campaign called Rise Against Big Tech (RABT), and with RABT partners is co-hosting a free 90-minute online workshop about how to begin the transition away from Big Tech.
Make no mistake, HOW to leave Big Tech is going to be a challenging undertaking for individuals, organisations and communities. But there are ways to begin this process that focus on solidifying political education, fostering organizational cultural change, starting with simple, non-disruptive changes and planning for a longer-term strategy that can work.
The Rise Against Big Tech Campaign—a group of movement technology organisations and providers organising resistance to Big Tech — invites you to a 90-minute workshop to learn how to conduct your own mini-workshop within your organisation to begin thinking about a strategic move away from Big Tech.
This workshop will help your team share ownership of both the decision and process of leaving Big Tech platforms. You'll learn to conduct your own workshop within your organisation to ground your team in the WHY of leaving Big Tech, acknowledge the challenges of doing so, and think about HOW to begin in simple, non-disruptive ways. You'll learn how to get additional support and have a chance to ask questions about possible next steps and longer-term strategies.
You'll also learn a little about the Rise Against Big Tech Campaign and what we have planned for the future.
