Florencia Roveri

Florencia Roveri has a degree in Social Communication from the National University of Rosario, Argentina, where she also initiated studies for a master's degree in Development of Communication Strategies and graduated as a University Professor on Social Communication. She also has a degree as a scientific, technical and literary translator. Since 2003, she has been part of Nodo TAU, a social organisation dedicated to promoting ICT appropriation by local communities. There she was part of the production team of the newsletter enREDando, covering the work of social organisations in Rosario and the surrounding area. Since 2007 she has been reporting on Argentina for the annual editions of the Global Information Society Watch (GISWatch) report coordinated by APC. She has also participated in training workshops developed by Nodo TAU on popular communication tools and digital rights. She teaches communication classes at a post-secondary institute and has worked for several years in the communications area of a group of medical institutions in Rosario. She also devotes and enjoys accompaning Malena and Tomás in their upbringing.

Purpose of position

To lead the development and implementation of the Local Access Programme communications plan, spaces and outputs. The communications plan responds to APC priorities on community networks and digital exclusion, specifically, incorporating a feminist and human rights-based approach.
