APC promotes a human rights-based approach to cybersecurity as it is humans who are impacted by cyberthreats, cyber incidents and operations. We apply an intersectional gender approach to cybersecurity, recognising that cyberthreats differentially affect groups which are marginalised or vulnerable because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Building on our research and advocacy work, we develop tools to support the work of different stakeholders in cybersecurity policy. This input builds on our work in cybersecurity and on the research conducted in the context of developing a framework for integrating gender into the interpretation and implementation of the 11 UN norms supported and funded by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR).
