The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the largest global United Nations event for discussions and negotiations on climate change. The meeting is held annually, with the presidency rotating among the five UN-recognised regions.
In 2025, Brazil will host the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30), which will take place in Belém, Pará. The chosen city will provide the world with a unique platform to discuss climate solutions, firmly rooted in the heart of the Amazon.

Connectivity agenda
Within the broad agenda that COP30 encompasses, connectivity is gaining increasing relevance. The discussions will explore how digital connectivity influences social and environmental justice, and how access to connectivity serves as a strategic resource for knowing, learning, and caring for the environment, communities, and territories.
The Local Access Networks (LocNet) initiative will support the participation of three correspondents at COP30, who will cover the event and its parallel activities from the perspective of community-led approaches to digital inclusion. The main goal is to document and share stories that promote and deepen this vital conversation, bringing it closer to local communities. Parallel Events
People's Summit
From November 12th to 16th, Belém (PA) will host the People’s Summit — a counterpoint to COP30, built by and for the territories. Indigenous peoples, quilombola communities, traditional communities, family farmers, youth, fishermen, and urban workers will unite for climate justice.
Rádio Nacional dos Povos
Rádio Nacional dos Povos will provide collaborative coverage of COP30 directly from the People’s Summit, with a mobile studio installed at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) in Belém, Pará.
Agenda
The COP30 venue will be divided into several areas: Blue Zone. for official delegations; Green Zone, open to the public and focused on dialogue among civil society, the private sector, and governments concerning sustainable solutions; and Yellow Zone, dedicated to community-led cultural activities, awareness campaigns, and discussions on climate solutions that reflect local realities.
